Punk rock
Punk rock is a form of rock music; part of the alternative counterculture. Philosophically, punk developed as a backlash against conservatism, and often deals with criticisms of the establishment. Lyrics and band politics often relate to social issues, such as environmentalism, animal rights, fighting poverty, and anarchism. It was born in the mid to late 70s in USA and the UK, but quickly spread and adapted world-wide. Classic bands include: Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, Ramones and Blondie. Read more on Last.fm.
